Incredible Baptism!!

 After months and months of appointments and lessons and three sets of missionaries and a few postponements, Betty was baptized today!!!!  It was a day of celebration for many reasons!!

Her best friend, Joan (in the purple) introduced her to the gospel and helped her work through a divorce and many health problems.  They have been friends for years...I think she was as excited as Betty.

Betty was almost drowned twice as a child and doesn't put water on her face, so this was a leap of faith to be baptized and in the missionaries doing it.

There was a lot of tension, but it all went very well.  Elder Bittner said he knew he had one chance and he better get it right and he did!!  And for Betty's security the two missionaries who were the witnesses were in the font also. 

In talking with her after, she said she was terrified when they started in immerse her but was able to do it.  We are so proud of her......and so very excited.

This is the family we have being going with the Elders to teach weekly.  We have come to love them.

This was taken at our Otay Mesa Relief Society Ice Cream Social Friday evening.  We had a quite a few sisters there and had a good time just eating and visiting and taking pictures!



It was our granddaughter's Jasi's farewell last Sunday....we are so proud of her and know what an incredible missionary she will be in the Spokane Washington Mission!!  You go Sister Medsker and share that light that shines from you!!  Ali called us when Jasi sang and we stood in the Clerk's office listening to her with our hearts bursting with love.

We had a great night at the Temple Thursday evening with the Chula Vista High Priests.  We met in the chapel and President Gill, 2nd counselor, spoke to us before the session, a powerful man.  We filled one room and half of another....good group.

One more exciting update.  Jesse Gomez was sustained as our Assistant Ward Mission leader. We are so excited to be working with him...he has been in a couple of our mission meetings with us, he is a natural with great insight in people.  He and his wife, Kathy are planning on going through the temple during the month of June.  That will be a incredible day!!
