Moving Day!!

Our apartment was on a corner and there was a lot of traffic noise, people wandering up and down the sidewalk all hours of the night laughing and talking and barking dogs across the street....Poor Elder Medsker is such a light sleeper he hasn't had many good nights of sleep...I on the other hand sleep through most of it.  But when a two bedroom apartment became available on the other side and end of the complex, we decided to take it.

At 8:45 in the morning, the first Elders showed up to help us move.  They are very protective of us...Elder Beazer saw that there were a couple of heavy boxes
so he took those first and one heavy box was left and he said "Don't let Elder Medsker take that one."

Elder Christensen and Tirrell were then going to move from there roach infested apartment into ours.  They were so excited...I made sure it was very clean, most missionaries are not known for their cleanliness!!  So after they got us in and we had lunch (Elder Medsker made barbeque which they loved) they went to their apartment and moved then over.  As they got the furniture out of the apartment, they sprayed it with roach killer.  They said roaches were coming from everywhere, in fact the Elder Kitchen over housing threw away some of the furniture and all of the mattresses.  The second picture is that shaking out of their clothes to make sure they didn't bring any unwanted guests.  Our manager had a man come in and spray everything and said that should take care of the problem.  We haven't had any roach problems in our apartment complex.  The Elders said they slept very well that night!!

We met a couple about our age, Brit and James Brotemarkle this week.  We really enjoyed getting to know them.  When he answered the door, he said "I will get my wife, she is the Mormon not me".  Funny how things go...on the way in I had seen a most unusual flower and wanted to know what it was.  So when he came back with his wife I asked him...that started the conversation and about an hour later after he showed us his garden (which I loved) and he picked a fig off his tree and gave to us (yummy) we left.  We loved it.  As we left she came to me and said, "my husband likes to talk but please come back again".  He also invited us back and we will definitely go.

A BIG congratulations to Miss Rylee who was baptized on Saturday.  We were able to skype with her before and after...Love all this technology!!  Makes in a little easier, when you can't be there!

PS: Our address will be the same as is in the corner, just a different mailbox...it will be #20 now!!
