Beautiful Easter Day!!

Because of Ward Conference last week and General Conference next week, our Otay Mesa Ward had Fast and Testimony Meeting today on Easter.  What a beautiful meeting, to hear humble testimonies of our Savior and His Atonement and Resurrection.  We add our testimony, we know He lives and loves everyone of us.  That through His Resurrection, we will all live again and know and love each other!!  That through his Atonement we can become the best we can be.  We love being in His service and sharing His gospel, which we love and are so thankful to have in our lives while we are living on earth!!  Life is so much easier with it!!

 Ali and Morgan, Rylee, Josi and Luke came down to spend part of their Spring Break with us!!  We had so much fun seeing our world through their eyes and having them here!!

We filled each day with as much as we could.  Sunday, we went to Otay Mesa Ward Conference.  Our Bishop, 1st Counselor in the the Stake Presidency and the Stake President spoke.  Wonderful and insightful talks just what was needed for our ward. Elder Medsker was conducting, so that was fun for the kids to see.

After church, we walked down on the beach, so the kids could see it.  Ali told them we were just walking and not getting wet.  Right!!  Somehow the waves just rolled in while we were looking at shells!!

Monday we went to the Mormon Battalion (such a good presentation) and searched for gold.  Then we went to the temple, Morgan and Rylee could remember it from when they lived here.  Then to LaJolla to watch the seals...we loved it and Luke loved it when they barked!!

Then to the beach to play!!  Josi collected so many shells, Ali was so excited!  Rylee and Morgan collected some also, they were more selective!

The girls enjoyed playing in the waves and being on the beach building sand castles and finding sea weed and playing in the sand.

 Uncle Fred came down to play also, he and Luke spent their time throwing rocks and wet sand in the ocean...must be a boy thing!

Wednesday we went to the San Diego Habor to tour the different types of boats at the Maritime Museum.

Touring the Star of India Sail Boat, it is such a beautiful boat with so many fun quarters to look in and see how life on a sail boat was in those days!!

Grandpa served on a submarine, so it was fun for Ali and the kids to tour the USS Dophin and see what one looked like inside!!  Picture of girls in a similar spot to the one Grandpa worked at in his Navy days!!

After touring the boats, we took a 45 minute cruise in the San Diego Bay with a tour guide telling us all about the bay and San Diego and even saw two sea lions asleep on a buoy!!

We also spent a day in Oceanside where Ali and family used to live, it was fun for them to "go home" to see where they lived and played on the beach!!  Especially for Morgan, she lived there for ten years.  She even spotted some dolphins as we walked out on the pier!!

Then Thursday morning, they got back in the car for their 14 hour ride home...our home was too quiet!

We did get some missionary time in the week.  We went with the missionaries to visit BJ, a woman about my age who lives with her daughter and three small boys.  The missionaries started her on a program to quit smoking...I was impressed with the program.  We were excited she was willing to give it a try.  Better yet, they all came out to church today and stayed for the entire time.  Aurora, the daughter is taking the missionary lessons and is excited for the kids to come to Primary every week.  I think it is a good fit.

It was also the Otay Mesa Ward Relief Society Party on Friday evening....we had a good turn out and a fun, great evening with yummy food!  We had a few sisters out we haven't seen for a while...that is always good!!
