A Moment for Celebration!!

It happened!!!!  Danny Mounce was baptized Saturday morning!!!  Danny is in the blue shirt...and his support group around him.  Aren't they incredible!!  We love them all!!  The two Elders that worked with him for a long time before they were transferred were able to come down for the baptism.  Brother Meyers (bottom left) our incredible Ward Mission Leader and Brother Plum (white shirt) the Young Men's President have been fellowshipping Danny.  His wife Denise is in the Young Women, so every Tuesday night Danny would come to Activity night and help with the boys.  A couple of weeks ago the YM and YW went to the temple to do baptisms, Danny went along but not being a member he, of course, couldn't go in but he spent the hour and a half outside walking around thinking and praying and got his answer!!  He and his wife are incredible and so was the baptism...the spirit was so strong.  We are blessed to be able to witness the change in a people, the softening of rough edges and see them be baptized.  Indeed a life highlight!!

Halloween came and went....we are in a gated apartment complex so no trick-or-treaters.  Both wards had ward parties and trunk or treats, so we did get to see the children all dressed up in their costumes.

 Exciting time...Jonathan and Janet came down on Thursday and stayed 

until Saturday.  They were able to go to the baptism with us....so great 

to introduce them to our Bishop and some of the other ward members!!

We were able to walk on the pier and get ice cream cones at our

favorite treat place "Cow A Bungle"!   Then early on

Friday, we went to Point Loma to see the old lighthouse and tidal

pools.  Lighthouse was wonderful....the tidal pools, we weren't able to

see because it was high tide :).  Beautiful cliffs on both sides..ocean on

one side and San Diego Bay on the other.  We saw a submarine leaving

the bay, which was cool.  Next we went over to Bay and toured some

boats...Star of India, a large sail boat was beautiful.  Our favorites were

the two submarines we went through...not much space in there!!  Elder Medsker really enjoyed it, since he was in the Navy in submarines for three years.  One of his areas was in the 'steering and diving station' in the submarine.  The picture is of him is in the spot he was in when in the Navy!  Memories, memories.......  Jonathan is trying out the periscope.

It was great to spend a few days with family!!   Just fills the heart!!
