One of the highlights of our week is choosing a letter to read from our Medsker Moments box.  Sweet Jade organized it and got letters from everyone so that we could open a letter from someone in the family each week...it is so exciting!!  We opened Emily's this week.....loved it!!  Thank you family it really is incredible having a box of letters sitting here full of love.  AND we have done well, one a week, I was afraid I would have a moment and sit down and
read them all at once, but that wasn't Jade's game plan!!  So far we
have opened one from Jasi, Aimee, Michelle/Chuy, Jarrett, Jade, Brandon,
Karissa, Jonathan, Luke, Janet, Pryce and Emily.  Thank you, Thank you.

On Wednesday, we went with the Woolsteinhulms (another senior couple) up to Julien, a quaint town in the mountains with all kinds of fun stores...one was a gift store with a lot of the same companies we order from when we had Grandma's Closet.  Julien is famous for their homemade pies....the apple one was delicious.  I forgot to get a picture of the town, I will take some when we go up for the Apple Festival in October. Then we down the other side of the moutain and we were in the high desert..I did take pictures there.  It has monuments of the old mail route and it was where the Mormon Battalion came through to get to San Diego.

We are getting to feel more comfortable working on Tuesday morning in the temple. It is such a beautiful temple, it is a well known landmark here.  There are a lot of young adults who work with us.

In visiting this week, we met a man Gary Babb who Elder Medsker and he had much in common and told each other fun stories.  Both were in the Navy, both have ridden motorcycles most of their lives, both sky dived, it was great to meet him.

Another couple, the Gomez own a lot of land on the south outskirts of Imperial Beach just next to the Mexican border.  He got tried of farming, so he has leased the land out and the people have all kinds of yummy things to eat.  We went back the next day when their booth was open and got strawberries, small very yummy watermelons, and mangos. Fruits and veggies are starting to come on...glad we have found a good source and we can get some visiting in also!!
