A Good Week!!

One morning when we were walking on the beach, there was a tractor go back and forth on the beach and it looked like he was harrowing the beach.  He took a break when we were close, so I had to find out what he was doing.  He said that is how they clean the beach of all the seaweed which draws a lot of flies...not the regular kind but small, pesky little things.  He then puts the seaweed in a pile and puts sand on it (bottom picture) and  because it is mostly water, the plants disintegrate within a few days.  Later in the week when we took out walk out on the pier we notice how much seaweed there was in the water...the next day, as we walked on to the beach there was so much seaweed (2nd picture) that had washed in and there was the tractor busy at work!!  Love to learn new things!!

We found out that when you make a return visit and knock on someone's door with a cup of big yummy strawberries, you are invited in :)  We had a great
visit with a couple about our age...she has had such a hard life...I came away counting blessings.

We had such a great day on Saturday...Jonathan and Janet came down....I was so excited and I didn't even get a picture, they will have to come back!!  It was so fun to show them where we live, around our town, the places we like to walk and of course, the Mexican border.  It felt great for someone in the family to know where we live.  We had such a great visit, played some cards, they fixed a few things on our computer, fixed dinner together.....it was so incredible to have family sit around our table.  It was such a great emotional fix!!!!!!!!!

It's Elder Medsker's turn to conduct sacrament meetings during June.  He also has to arrange for the programs.  The first week with Fast and Testimony is, of course, taken care of, as is the one with the high council representative.  A new couple will speak on the 19th so we need to line up something for father's day.  We wish we knew the people better.  Any volunteers???  We will fix you dinner :)
